The Conlon Family

English Ancestors

Growing up, I understood my heritage to be German, French, and Irish. I did not realize until embarking on this genealogy quest that I had English ancestors as well. My seventh great grandfather on my paternal grandmother's side was Andrew Job, Jr. He was either born in England or on a ship sailing from England to North America in 1650. He lived in the Pennsylvania colony and was a close friend of William Penn. The image below shows the historical marker commemorating the tavern he ran in Chester County, Pennsylvania. An interesting tidbit, his son married the niece of Daniel Defoe.

The map below shows the location of East Nottingham, Pennsylvania, which is located near the Pennsylvania-Maryland border.
